Leatherhead Over 40s social XI enjoyed our first T20 fixture of the season on a lovely May evening at Walton-on-Thames CC. Whilst the result did not go our way, we remain buoyant and confident of an excellent season ahead. Mark Berryman was our man of the match. He opened the batting and scored an excellent 30 not out in about 4 overs before retiring to the bar. John Friend also starred, bowling 4 excellent overs. His release from hospital is expected in the next few days.
The team is predominantly parents of juniors but open to all playing members of a certain age! We have a healthy fixtures list with home and away fixtures against Walton-on-Thames, Stoke D’Abernon, Pyrford and Weybridge. Please contact captain, Andy Meyer, or Ken Rose if you would like to join this finely tuned squad of athletes. We are particularly keen to recruit competent bowlers who can strengthen our attack and are able consume a couple of beers after strenuous exercise.
