Our U13 Strikers girls team played their first match of the season at Fetcham Grove last Wednesday, May 12th. They enjoyed a very close encounter against Claygate, winning by 5 runs after Megan Cannon took a wicket with the last ball of the game.

The team looked resplendent in their new kit which was designed by the girls and delivered only a couple of hours before the start of the match. We are very grateful to local employer CGI for sponsoring the team kit this season.

The Strikers were due to play their first fixture in the Surrey SmashIT league last Sunday but, unfortunately, the weather defeated us. They will travel to Horsley & Send this Sunday to start their league campaign in a triangular fixture which also features Valley End.

Girls' membership has really taken off at the club this season. We have about 35 players, many of whom are already playing mixed hardball cricket. We are also running U9, U11 and U13 girls' softball teams in a variety of league, festival and friendly fixtures.
