Lucky7Super8
LCC has big plans, and 'your club needs you'. We're rolling out a fundraising game that you can hopefully help push and partake in, with fairly little effort on your part, and quite a bit of fun over the off season.
We're starting the 'Lucky 7 - Super 8' competition, which is akin to the football pools, which you win by successfully predicting Home Wins (1), Away wins (2) or Draw (X) from a selection of 8 weekend fixtures, selected each week by LCC. 50% of monies received goes to LCC fundraising and 50% into a prize pot. If everyone helps push this, it has the potential to raise lots of money for the club.
The game is as follows;
8 football fixtures are chosen...starting with the following fixtures for Weekend 12th/13th August.
Everton v Fulham
Sheffield United v Crystal Palace
Chelsea v Liverpool
Coventry City v Middlesbrough
Southampton v Norwich
Ipswich Town v Stoke City
Lincoln City v Wycombe Wanderers
AFC Wimbledon v Wrexham
It costs £1 per entry (i.e. £1 to predict 8 results), and there is no limit to how many entries an individual can make. This is open to all members of the public, so LCC members can (and hopefully will) ask friends, family, colleagues etc to join in. The sheet to complete for the first week is attached (with a pre-filled example). It would make our admin a lot easier if sent back to us in excel, but we’ll take completed predictors in any reasonable form.
25% of monies received each week is available for the 'Lucky 7' prize pot and 25% of monies received each week is available for the 'Super 8' prize pot.
In the event of all entries having 6 or less successful predictions, there are no winners. When there are no winners, all prize money rolls over to the following week, split equally between 'Lucky 7' and 'Super 8' pots.
In the event of 8 successful predictions, winner(s) get all of the money in both the 'Lucky 7' and 'Super 8' prize pots, including rolled over amounts. Pot will be shared equally if there are multiple winners.
If no 'Super 8' winners, in the event of 7 successful predictions, winner(s) will get the money in the 'Lucky 7' Prize pot, including roll-over amounts if applicable. Pot will be shared equally if there are multiple winners.
For the avoidance of doubt, if one week there are entries with 8 and 7 correct predictions, only those with 8 predictions receive prize money.
Maximum prize money available at any one time is restricted to £20,000 per lottery commission rules, and hopefully we can get to that point as it will get very "interesting" and likely to result in significant fundraising.
Should prize money amounts be collected in excess of maximum available prize fund (£20,000), these will be held in reserve to boost next available prize fund.
For the final weekend of the season, all prize money (upto a maximum of £20,000) shall be awarded to the highest scoring entries, or shared if multiple winners, irrespective of the score. i.e. an entrant with 5 correct could in theory win.
Now for the small print;
Players must be 16 years or older to participate.
Entries can be submitted by email "LCCFundraising@outlook.com", either in excel (preferred) or scan/photo, On the Lucky7Super8 Whatsapp group that will be created (scan/photo), or given Hardcopy/handwritten to either Wayne Cannon, Emma Baldwin, Ken Rose, Jason Townshend, Kelly Townshend, Lauren Ireland, Greg Ireland or Tony Garton.
Entries must be received before the cutoff. Cut-off is 6.00pm Friday each week. We intend to use Pitchero to administer payment for this (person submitting the sheet is responsible for payment for all entries on that sheet, so needs to collect money from those playing), though physical payment can also be made to any of the above listed club members.
LCC will endeavour to publish consolidated list of entries before the first game kicks off, but failing that, the original entries will be made available should anyone wish to review at a later date.
